Before each measurement sandpaper the metal electrodes with ultrafine 1000 grit sandpaper.
If the soil does not contain enough moisture, measurement cannot be made. In this instance, pour water on the soil and measure after the water has sufficiently soaked into the soil.
Measuring is affected by fertilizer. It is not possible to accurately make a ph measurement after fertilizing. The measuring range is from pH3 to 7, so alkali cannot be read.
